About ME

Shiqi is a researcher working at the intersection of Extended Reality (XR) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). She develops immersive systems and interfaces using AR/VR/MR technologies, with experience spanning medical visualization, security research, educational applications, and manufacturing training. Her technical expertise includes Unity3D development, mixed reality platforms (HoloLens, Magic Leap, Oculus), and user-centered design methodologies. Shiqi has contributed to multiple international research projects, including EU-funded XR security initiatives and UK manufacturing innovation programs. Her work has been presented at international conferences and she actively publishes in the XR/HCI research community.

Background

Shiqi holds an M.S. in Design Informatics from the University of Edinburgh and a B.Eng. in Digital Media Technology from Beijing Language and Culture University. She has held research positions at Cranfield University as a Research Fellow and at the University of Greenwich as an XR Software Developer. Her experience also includes teaching undergraduate courses at Northeastern University, where she bridged technical XR concepts with communication studies for over 120 students. She is currently exploring research opportunities to continue her work in XR and HCI.
